I enjoyed the fact that Justin’s father was present emotionally for his son. Teaching him how to navigate the good and the bad.

Favourite character in a movie and perfect example how a father deals with his son. Not once he yelled at him and teaching a boy how to become a man.

This wasn’t my high school experience it was college experience. I related heavily and I frequently paused the show because this was my life before. Beautifully said and well done. There was so much frustration for me, and to me that means the script was written well.

I was just screaming, “oh my gosh, I agreee” over and over while reading this! Beautiful summary. I really enjoyed the show, I think everyone involved in its creation did such a great job and they casted the characters so well.

Haven't been able to stop thinking about it since it dropped! Was so refreshing seeing a coming of age story that centred Black teens with fully fleshed out and complex stories, beyond stereotypical plot lines. Mara Brock Akil is a genuis!!

Saved for when I finish the season- I'm halfway through and the awkwardness in ep4 was so real and necessary.

Just finished it today. Omg, it was so good. I didn't have my first relationship until I was 20 so late bloomer in that regard but I feel that I would've been a Justin if I did date in high school. Totally willing to follow my hypothetical Keisha to the ends of the earth(or continental United States) just to remain near her.

Shout out to Wood Harris for bringing a strong Black father that was softer and compassionate and not a hardass but still respected by his sons and wife. Give my man's an Emmy.
